Though Kathiresan says he is yet to approach any actor or director, Moondru Mugam is a mass film and hence he wants Vijay, Ajith or Karthi to essay the role. Moondru Mugam had Rajini in three different roles viz., Alex Pandian, Arun and John. Among the three roles, Alex Pandian role in flashback is still famous among many and many have said in past that no one can reprise Alex Pandian's role.
It has to be remembered that Ajith has already remade Rajini's Billa, Karthi is used to keep Rajini's titles like Naan Mahan Alla and Alex Pandian to his film while Vijay is a big fan of Rajinikanth himself.
