ROAD MAP - AN EXCLUSIVE SCOOP ON IRUMBU KUTHIRAI

Irumbu Kuthirai is Atharvaa Murali's upcoming film, where he stars alongside Priya Anand, Raai Laxmi and Johnny Tri Nguyen of 7am Arivu fame. The film is directed by newcomer Yuvaraj Bose and has music by GV.Prakash Kumar. The audio launch of the film took place today, followed by a presser. Cinemalead brings you some tidbits about the film in our exclusive report here.
As it came from the director's mouth, Irumbu Kuthirai is a romantic film in a bikers backdrop. After working as an assistant to Arivazhagan in Vallinam, Yuvaraj Bose approached AGS with this script, which then materialized. Yuvaraj said that the film will start off introducing the characters, and then narrate incidents which happened over the course of one night.
Speaking about the cast of the film, Yuvaraj started with Atharvaa who was roped in because they were in need of a boy next door image. Atharvaa plays the role of a young lad who has just finished his final year of college. Though Irumbu Kuthirai is a commercial film, a lot of hardwork was needed to bring out the genuine image of a biker. Though the buzz is running around that Atharvaa is having a six pack, it is not actually a six pack. Yuvaraj tells us that it is an 8 pack, and Atharvaa has toned his body driven on his own interests. Irumbu Kuthirai does not have a torso driven fight sequence, yet the hero's character required a well sculpted physique.
Talking about the villain Johnny Tri Nguyen, Yuvaraj reveals that he is basically a biker, and was waiting for a script of that sort. Johnny is extensively trained in martial arts, so his style of performing stunts are different. He doesn't need any ropes unlike our Tamil heroes, a truly professional dude. Apart from the main cast, Irumbu Kuthirai has Devadarshini in an uncommon role. She will playing Atharvaa's mother in the film.
Irumbu Kudhirai has unique music by GV.Prakash, who has done things which he has never done before for this film. Though he is busy, GVP has superb time management skills, says the director.
Yuvaraj said that Irumbu Kuthirai has two cinematographers - RB. Gurudev and Gopi Amarnath. The latter was used as a special weapon for the action scenes. The film was mostly shot at Pondicherry, and then Mahe at Kerala. A few scenes were shot in Italy due to the availability of bikes, but the story of the film does not travel to Italy.
Each of the bikes used in the film cost about 20-30 lakhs, and are very bulky and difficult to transport. They can clock speeds of upto 250kmph.
"I have driven at 220kmph" says the second heroine, Raai Laxmi. Being a fan of bikes since her college days, she admits that she did this film with a lot of interest and excitement. Hello Brother is her song in the film, which is choreographed by Kalyan master. Her costumes in the film will be both rugged and colorful, unlike the usual biker girl costumes which exhibit a tomboyish look.
Cinemalead wishes Team Irumbu Kuthirai all the very best for their film, which might hit the screens in the final week of August.
