Bipasha loves being 'crusader of horror' in Bollywood

Bipasha Basu, who has acted in several films in the horror/ super-natural genre, says she is happy being "crusader of horror films" in Bollywood. Bipasha has acted in 'Aatma', 'Raaz, 'Darna Zaroori Hai', 'Rakht', and will next be seen in Vikram Bhatt's 'Creature'. "I am a greedy actor. I want to do good...meaty roles irrespective of the genre. "It is the first Indian creature film being made here, the special effects are done in India. It's a bold step and I am glad I got to be a part of this film. I don't think we made the film thinking it as an answer to Hollywood films like Jurassic Park," Bipasha said. "It was very difficult film for me to shoot initially as I had to imagine the 'Creature'. But Vikram's guidance helped me a lot. We used to do every shot at least three times due to technical reasons," she said.

AI'S TOP LEVEL SONG!

Lyricist Kabilan has penned three songs in Shankar's Ai. For one of these songs, he recalls writing the lyrics in the plane and on one of the peaks in Kodaikanal.
On asking him to reveal his experience of writing the song, Kabilan says "Writing a song with director Shankar is a comfortable thing to do. At first, he told me the situation at which the song would be placed in the movie. Following that, he explained the locations in which the song would be shot, and the costumes the lead pair would be wearing for the song, through the internet."
Kabilan said that Shankar wanted this particular song in the film to be written at a reasonable height. Therefore, they started to Kodaikanal via a flight to Madurai. The pallavi of the song was completed in the flight itself, after which the duo moved to a scenic spot at the hillstation. "It is a top level track. It has to be written at the top only." were the witty words of Shankar while penning this song.
Kabilan guaranteed that this song would be one of the chartbusters of 2014. Anirudh has crooned for another song in the album, which also has lyrics by Kabilan.

Kick crosses Chennai Express in Bollywood’s box-office pecking order

In quick succession, Bollywood seems to be breaking its own records. In 2013, Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express was met with much jubilation when it became the highest Bollywood box-office earner in India.

Chennai Express had broken the record held by Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots for four years. A trade source says, "Chennai Express took four years to break the record held by 3 Idiots, but now, Hindi film box-office records are being broken with alarming regularity." Four months after Chennai Express, Vijay Krishna Acharya's Dhoom 3 crossed the `250-crore mark and it continues to sit there in the enviable number one slot. What's interesting is that the box-office shenanigans continue unabated. According to recent collection reports, Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick has beaten Chennai Express's box-office records and is in the No.2 slot. Even as Kick continues to count its monies at the ticket windows, trade sources say it will remain in the No.2 slot, followed by Chennai Express in the third position.

'Haider' and 'Bang Bang' are both very different films: Shahid Kapoor

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, whose upcoming film 'Haider' is set to clash with superstar Hrithik Roshan's 'Bang Bang' on October 2, feels that both the films can sustain together because they cater to different audiences.
"I saw the promo of Bang Bang and I loved it and I will definitely go and see the film. I wished good luck to Hrithik. It is a five-day weekend, the five-day holiday period is coming after a long time and I think any big holiday weekend is good enough for two films to sustain. Two big films can release (together), there is no problem," Shahid said in an interview here.

I got a very good vibe from Homi: Pankaj Kapoor

Veteran actor Pankaj Kapoor, who plays the role of a belligerent painter in 'Finding Fanny', says he joined the project because it gave him a chance to work with director Homi Adajania and a talented starcast.
"I got a very good vibe from Homi. I felt very comfortable in his presence. I felt he was chilled out and a nice guy who came up with an interesting script. He gave me a lot of confidence as a person. The kind of role I play in the film is very unique and something that I have never done before," Pankaj told .
The film, starring Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia and Pankaj, is slated to hit the screens on August 25.
Both Naseer and Dimple have worked with Adajania earlier in the director's debut project Being Cyrus, also in English.
Pankaj, 60, is all praises for the young cast of the film, saying he was quite impressed with their dedication and discipline to the craft.
"It's a great pleasure to work with fine actors and Naseer is one of the finest actors that we have. It is always great working with him but in this given case, the three other actors were quite a joy too. They had a down-to-earth approach, great professionalism and discipline towards their craft."
The film is in English but Pankaj does not think that would pose a problem for the movie to relate to the audience.
"The producers have their vision about how they want to market the film. There are a whole lot of people who speak the language comfortably. When they see Indian characters speaking English, I don't think they will find it troublesome. Some films have already been made in the language," he said.
