LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR KAMAL HAASAN

Today,  Tamil Chamber of commerce and Chozha Naachiar foundation will be felicitating Ulaganayagan with an life time achievement award. Tamil Nadu governor Rosaiah will be presenting the life time achievement award to Kamal Haasan and he will be the chief guest for the event.

Famous directors and Kamal's old pals viz., SP Muthuraman and RC Sakthi will be delivering the felicitation address at the event. The event will be happening at Rajeshwari Kalyana manadapam, Mylapore.

VIJAY AND SAMANTHA ON THE FLOOR

Kaththi shoot is progressing at a brisk pace, the latest is that the entire team is camped in Chennai for completing the film in one month long schedule. From today, the team will be shooting a song featuring Vijay and Samantha at Chennai. The team is also having plans to shoot songs in Europe and once the talkie portions are over, the team will be moving to Europe.

Soon after the completion of shoot, Kaththi team will also be gearing up for the audio launch on September at London and also the film will be released for Diwali.

Kaththi has Vijay, Samantha, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sathish and many to its star cast. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander.

SAMANTHA IS SUPER CONFIDENT ABOUT ANJAAN'S SUCCESS IN TELUGU

Speaking at Sikindar audio launch, Samantha said that Sikindar will be a confirm hit in Telugu and everyone will enjoy it. Samantha said that Lingusamy has made the film by keeping Telugu audience in mind and while sooting he used to call Samantha's Telugu assistants to know whether they are enjoying the film or not.

Earlier, Samantha has also said that she can't predict Anjaan's success in Tamil but  in Telugu the film will be a confirm hit. Samantha added that Suriya used to ask her to speak in Telugu and no Tami heroes have asked her like that.

DIRECTORS UNION AND PRODUCERS COUNCIL TO PROTEST IN FRONT OF SRI LANKAN EMBASSY

Recently an article was uploaded in official website of Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Defense and Urban Development, which had a picture Jayalalithaa writing a letter with Modi's picture in heart-shaped bubbles floating in her mind. This articles irked many Tamil poltical parties and hence they have expressed their opposition.

Now the latest is that Tamil Nadu directors' union and producers council will be protesting in front of Sri Lankan debuty high comission( embassy) on August 4 and their protest is to shut down the embassy in Chennai, also a sign to oppose Sri Lankan government's cheap article on Chief Minister.

Director union has also invited all the actors, technicians and general public to take part in this protest.

MY SONG WITH NARGIS WILL BE A HUGE HIT - PRASHANTH

In a ringing comeback of sorts, Top Star Prashanth will be back with Saahasam, a fun filled action entertainer. With Nargis Fakhri being flown down for an item song, the buzz on the film took a jump. In a recent press meet, Prashanth has revealed some tidbits about the film.

Prashanth said that Saahasam is shot on a grand scale, something next level. As he has been lucky with songs so far, Thaman has come up with special songs for the film. Talking about the item number, Prashanth said this song will be a huge hit. He lauded Nargis Fakhri's professionalism, and called it an exciting experience to work with her. 

Nargis Fakhri said she was very curious about the song, and loved the huge production values on the film. Saahasam is fast moving on the shooting stage and will hopefully hit the screens by the end of the year.

Dhanush's VIP is doing amazing business in Kollywood. Now the latest is that Dhanush is said to be having plans to remake VIP in Hindi and sources say that director Velraj might direct the Bollywood version too.

After Ranjhanna, Dhanush is having good market in Hindi and now if his second Shamitabh runs well then Dhanush might producer VIP remake on his own say the sources.

SHANKAR DENIES DOING AJITH'S FILM

Recently there was a buzz that Shankar will be directing Ajith after Ai and Rajinikanth himselft suggested Thala's name to Shankar. Also, yesterday there were news that Shankar will directing Ajith for AM Ratnam's production and the director has signed a deal.
In a reply to a fan in his official facebook page, Shankar has clarified that he is not doing Ajith's film. As of now Shankar is busy with Ai's post production and only after the film's release he will be deciding about his next movie.
It has to be recalled that Ajith was the first choice for Shankar's Jeans.

Kareena Kapoor confident of 'Aata Majhi Satakli' success

Kareena Kapoor is confident that the song 'Aata Majhi Satakli', which she has shot with composer-rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh for 'Singham Returns', would be a chartbuster.

The song's video also features Ajay Devgn in his "Singham" avatar along with hundred kids dressed as cops. "I am a big fan of Honey Singh just like everyone here. So I was very excited," the actress told reporters here at an event to launch the film's merchandise Wednesday.

KARTHI AND VADIVELU TO COMPETE FOR SHRUTI HASSAN?

We at Hallofcini earlier brought you the news that Anirudh might be roped in for Karthi's next project with iDhaaba fame Gokul's next project. As if that surprise wasnt enough, the latest buzz from the camp is that veteran comedian Vadivelu and hottie Shruti Hassan might be onboard for this project too.
Post Tenali Raman, Vadivelu is seemed to have been hearing scripts for his next film, both as hero or as a comedian. After hearing director Gokul's script, Vadivelu is said to have shown positive signs towards the project, and the makers have decided to sign him for the film. His role will have him falling in love with the heroine, one-sidedly. Our sources do also reveal that Shruti Hassan might be a part of this project, as the female lead.
We will have to wait a bit for the confirmation from the team, but if things do materialize, we have a laugh riot on the cards. 

VIJAY CONTINUES HIS JOURNEY WITH THIS NATIONAL AWARD WINNER

Editing a commercial film is always a tough task and Sreekar Prasad, the eight time national award winner is known for his crisp editing for quality commercial movies. After Thuppakki and Kaththi, now Sreekar Prasad has also been roped in for Vijay's 58th film which is to be directed by Chimbu Devan.
Vijay 58 already has strong technical crew including cinematography by Natraj Subramaniam, art direction by Muthuraj and music by Devi Sri Prasad. The untitled film will have Vijay, Shruthi, Hansika, Sridevi, Sudheep and many to its star cast.
The initial shooting for Vijay 58 is likely to begin by August end or by September 1st week.

DHANUSH'S VIP IMPRESSES SHANKAR

The king of commercial cinema, Shankar has watched Dhanush's VIP yesterday and he is said to be thoroughly impressed with the film. The director posted in his page "Saw VIP yesterday, lively movie and enjoyed every bit of it". The Enthiran director also lauded Dhanush for his awesome performance, Anirudh for his energetic music and Velraj for directing an entertaining movie.
Shankar says after a long time, VIP is a satisfying movie for the audience. VIP is doing extra-ordinary business and the trade has already declared the film as a blockbuster.

SAMANTHA EXCITED ABOUT VIKRAM'S PATHU ENRATHUKULLA

Among all heroines in south, Samantha is really going places, thanks to her upcoming films which are with top heroes from Kollywood and Tollywood. The actress is acting in Vijay's Kaththi, Suriya's Anjaan, Vikram's Paththu Enrathukulla and Jr NTR's Rabhasha. For the past few days Samantha was busy with Vikram's Pathu Enrathukulla which is being directed by Vijay Milton.
Today the first schedule of the Pathu Enrathukulla is completed and Samantha tweeted "Done with the first schedule of the Vijay Milton-Vikram film.. Absolutely amazing role so very thankful for it. Rushing now #hyd #Anjaan".

AR RAHMAN TO PRODUCE A TAMIL FILM

It is known that Academy award winner AR Rahman is having plans to produce a Hindi film along with EROS international. Now the latest is that after his Hindi film, he will also be producing a Tamil film and also having plans for producing two movies at the same time.
AR Rahman said in a recent media interaction "Life has taught us many things and we would have met so many people in our  journey". The Ai music director added " Based on my own experience and people I met,  I've written a story  for my first production venture".
AR Rahman says that  a newcomer will be playing the lead role in the film and he has also confirmed the director for his story.
After  his maiden film in Hindi, AR Rahman says that he is going to produce a film in Tamil.

SAMUTHIRAKANI AND SIVAKARTHIKEYAN JOIN HANDS

Yesterday, we reported you that Sivakarthikeyan is playing a real estate broker in his upcoming film Rajini Murugan which is to be directed by Ponram of Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam fame.
Though the team is in talks with Samantha, she is yet to give her nod. Rajini Murugan will also have Rajkiran playing an important role and Soori will take care of comic portions.

MYSORE, HYDERABAD PORTIONS ARE COMPLETED, TEAM LINGAA TO RESUME SHOOTING IN CHENNAI

It is known that Superstar Rajinikanth's Lingaa shooting is progressing at Hyderabad and surrounding places. Sources say that today is the last day for team Lingaa and they have completed all the scenes which is to be shot in this schedule. Sources add that the team will be shooting at a popular hotel in Hyderabad  and then they will be taking a short break.
The next schedule of Lingaa is likely to take place in Chennai. Sources say that in Hyderabad schedule they have shot a song, scenes involving Rajini, Anushka, Santhanam and Karunakaran.

BRAD PITT AND DAVID BECKHAM FACTORS IN KATHTHI!

Neil Nitin Mukesh is playing the baddie in Vijay's Kaththi. In a recent interaction, the actor has said that he is not playing a normal over the top villain in Kaththi. The David actor added that  his role is more stylish like Brad Pitt and David Beckham because his character in Kaththi is a foreign return.
Neil Nitin Mukesh has also worked hard to excel in the language and mugged up his own dialogues, the actor has said that he understood the meaning of his dialogues with help of assistant directors.
Neil has also revealed that both Vijay and AR Murugadoss are surprised by his dialogue delivery with right stress  and modulation. Kaththi's final schedule has been commenced and the film is likely to wrapped by this month.

ANIRUDH AND KARTHI TO JOIN HANDS?

Director Gokul of Rowthiram and Idharku Thaane Aasaipattai Balakumara fame has narrate a script to Karthi. Now the latest is that the makers have approached Anirudh to compose music for the film, if all goes well Anirudh might sign the project.
It is said that Anirudh is busy with projects like Kaththi, Taana and he is just back from Singapore concert, hence  Anirudh is yet to decide on Karthi's project. Once the music director hears the script from Gokul, we can get a confirmed news.

JUST IN : ANJAAN GETS A CLEAN U. TRAILER BY NEXT WEEK, FILM ON AUGUST 15

Today Censor board members will see Anjaan for the certification process. Now the latest is that censor board members from Mumbai have seen the film and awarded a clean U to the film. Sources say they enjoyed watching the film and lauded the team for making an entertaining film.
Additional information is that the team will be releasing the trailer by next week and as said earlier the film will be released on August15. Produced by UTV and Thirrupathi brothers, Anjaan has Suriya, Samantha, Vidyut Jamwal and many to its star cast.

ANIRUDH'S CHANCELESS MUSIC VIDEO FROM AUGUST 1

Popular music director Anirudh's Chanceyilla music video is all set to be launch at the Express Avenue on August 1. Large number of  Anirudh fans are expected to be present at the launching venue and Anirudh will also be lively performing songs from Chanceyilla album.

VILLAIN IN CHENNAI, HERO IN JAMAICA.. KATHTHI SHOOTING RESUMED !

After a short break, now Kaththi team has resumed the shooting in Chennai. The film's baddie Neil Nitin Mukesh has posted in his Twitter that he is back to Kaththi sets in Chennai along with AR Murugadoss.
Vijay who was on a Holiday at Jamaica is also expected to join the sets soon say the sources. Sources add that the entire Kaththti shoot is likely to wrapped by August last week so that there will be a plenty of time for post production works.
Kaththi is slated for Diwali release.

KATHTHI PRODUCERS TO MEET TAMIL ACTIVISTS ?

It is known that there are some objections from serious Tamil supporters for Lyca's involvement in Kaththi and the producers have also clarified that they are not anti-Tamil group. Recently, this issue has  came to the limelight again because a student community has issued an opposition statement against the film.
Now the latest buzz is that Lyca's head is likely to visit top Tamil activists like Vaiko, Nedumaran by mid of August and he will express the real truth on their company's origin. Some section of Sri Lankan media say that Lyca is a  pro LTTE group while some say they are close to Rajapakshe, now with the producer himself visiting Tamil activists a good news on Kaththi will be arrived soon.
After the producers meet up with Tamil activists, Kaththi audio launch will be happening in September and film release is for Diwali.

WEDDING SCENE FOR TRISHA AND AJITH

Ajith and Trisha are acting as husband and wife in Thala55. Now the latest is that Devi Ajith who is acting in Thala55 has revealed that there is a wedding scene for Ajith and Trisha in the film. As per the sources, both Ajith and Trisha are playing as husband and wife in Thala 55, also baby Anikha will be seen as their daughter in the film.
Sources say these portions will feature in the flashback of the film. Directed by Gautham Menon, Thala 55 will have music by Harris Jayaraj and the film is slated for  November release.

Dhanush's Velai Illa Pattadhari is a blockbuster hit and the trade is all happy about the film's success. Now the latest is that Dhanush's smoking poster has landed him in a trouble, Tamil Nadu Forum For Tobacco Control(TNFTC) has expressed its disappointment over Dhanush's smoking posters for Velai Illa Pattadhari also they have raised questions on how Censor board issued U certificate for the film.
TNFTC has said that Tamil Nadu government should remove all the posters where Dhanush smoking. TNFTC has already made Rajini, Vijay, Ajith and Suriya to stop smoking in their films, hope Dhanush follows.

Kaththi audio launch is likely to happen on September 20 at London Wembley arena. The entire cast and crew including Vijay, Samantha, Anirudh, AR Murugadoss will be attending the function, sources say Vijay and Samantha might dance in the function along with Anirudh.
A TV channel is said to have bought the audio launch telecast rights for a huge price and they will be telecasting after the audio launch. Kaththi is being produced by Ayngaran and Lyca productions, the film is slated for Diwali release.

Sivakarthikeyan is busy with Taana shoot and the film is all set to be released on October2. Now the latest is that the actor is likely to play as a real estate broker in his upcoming film Rajini Murugan with a typical broker get-up.

Karthi was busy shooting for Kutipuli director's Komban but the local food caused  him food poisoning. Later , Karthi admitted at a hospital in Chennai and after initial treatment doctors have asked him to take rest.

GAUTHAM MENON'S HEROINE REMOVED FROM MOVIE OVER BIKINI ISSUE

Actress YamiGautham is the heroine of Tamil SelvanumTaniyarAnchalum starring Jai. The film is produced by director Gautham Menon. Yami is also acting in Telugu and Hindi. Recently, the actress was in Mumbai for a Hindi film and she had to wear bikini for one of the scenes. The actress was very forthcoming and did not fuss about wearing bikini. YamiGautham changed to bikini and stood for photo shoot. However, the director became so depressed after seeing the actress in bikini. He told his assistants that bikini does not suit the heroine and Yami had to leave the spot in tears!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DHANUSH, SOURCE OF INSPIRATION FOR MANY !

Tamil cinema is always known for accepting real talents. If an actor is good in entertaining / if he is good in acting, then Tamil cinema will make him as a Superstar. Actors like Rajinikanth, Vijayakanth, Vijay and now Dhanush are the best examples.
Among Rajinikanth, Vijayakanth, Vijay and Dhanush, Dhanush is a special phenomenon. Rajinikanth, Vijayakanth and Vijay had a successful career by turning out into action heroes but Dhanush purely developed himself as an actor rather than a star.  Over the period of time, now not just Tamil cinema even Bollywood celebrates him as a star, thanks to his intelligent script selections by finding a balance in doing both commercial and quality films.
When Dhanush started his acting career in Thulluvatho Illamai there were many brickbats but the film turned out to be a hit venture, later he surprised everyone with his superb acting in Kadhal Konden. When everyone thought Dhanush could do only dark roles, he proved people wrong by a superb entertainer called Thiruda Thirudi.
As Dhanush’s first three films are hits, all of a sudden he became a star in Kollywood. Later, just like any actor’s life Dhanush has to face three consecutive failures in the form of Puthukottayirunthu Sarvanan Sullan , Dreams, but then he eventually made comeback with Devathayey Kanden which is a commercial hit and a stunning performance in Puthupettai.
I would say Puthupettai is a film which showcased most of the talent hidden inside Dhanush, though the film is not a big hit it is still considered to be one of the best films of Dhanush. If Puthupettai released now, I’m sure that it will sweep all awards because Dhanush is a big name in the country.  When Puthupettai released Dhanush is just 23 years old, don’t remember another actor in Tamil cinema who played as a tough don in such a young age.
Probably Kamal is the only actor who had chance to portray such kind of versatile roles at very young age. Kamal played as a psycho in Sigappu Rojakal at the age of 24 and as a don in Nayagan at the age of 33, Dhanush played as a psycho in Kadhal Konden at the age of 20, while he played a don at the age of 23.
Not just that, Kamal got his first national award at the age of 29 for Moondram Pirai and Dhanush got his first national award for Aadukalam at the age of 29. After Kamal, Dhanush is the only Tamil actor who scored a hit in his debut Hindi film. Kamal’s Ek Duje Ke Liyey was a big hit in Hindi so as Dhanush’s Ranjhannaa. Like Kamal Haasan, Dhanush is also multi-talented, he is a producer, singer and also a lyricist.
All these comparisons are not to say that Dhanush is the perfect successor of Kamal  or he is a star after Rajini, Vijaykanth or Vijay but to describe how Dhanush improved himself as an actor/star in Indian film industry. People who criticized his looks are now appreciating his talent, Dhanush’s 12 years of cinema life is a lesson and source of inspiration to everyone. If you are good at something with all your hard work and dedication you can reach the top, this is the bottom line from Dhanush’s successful film career.

DIRECTOR CONFIRMS ILAIYARAAJA SINGING FOR VAIRAMUTHU'S LYRICS

Ilaiyaraaja might sing a song for Vairamuthu or Dhanush's lyrics in Seenu Ramasamy's Idam Porul Eval. Now Seenu RamaSamy has confirmed that Ilaiyaraaja will be singing for Vairamuthu's lyrics, while the song has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Seenu Ramasamy has said that the song is about mother and Ilaiyaraaja has readily agreed to the sing it. Last time Ilaiyaraaja sung for Vairmauthu's lyrics is for Kadalora Kavithaigal and nearly after 28 years, Isaignani will be singing for Kaviperarasu's lyrics.

ILAYATHALAPATHY VIJAY IS ABOVE RELIGION, HE IS AN INDIAN

Actor Vijay and his family are known for their affection for all religions. Recently, actor Vijay’s father and veteran director SA Chandrasekhar revealed the fact while admitting Vijay in school, he wrote Indian in the column for religion. “His religion in the school certificate is still Indian,” he said. SAC revealed this while attending an Iftar party near Periyakulam in Theni. He added that it was a Muslim brother who helped him come up with a film in the year 1978 by giving him one lakh rupees. He reminisced that its worth is more than 10 crores now. Highlighting Vijay’s and his respect for the Muslim community, he said that as far as Vijay’s Fan Clubs among the 33 districts are concerned,  6 districts are headed by Muslim brothers.
